Troops continue to use the Salisbury Plain to train and leave their names carved in trees. A number of Wiltshire military airfields continued in use after the Second World War - and some are still active today.

US Air Force (USAF) 1958. This tree carving is near Yatesbury airfield which was in service until the mid 1960s.
