Tree carvings dating to 1940 and 1944 at Lackham Park
The house was used by the Americans prior to D-Day and was one of the bases of General Patton. The earlier 1940 carving may be associated with the 7 pillboxes built in the park. Interestingly the same tree was carved on in 1940 and then again in 1944.
